Job Description

Join the culinary team at one of Rhode Island’s premier private golf clubs, known for its exceptional member service, refined dining experiences, and beautiful coastal setting. We are seeking an experienced, driven Executive Sous Chef to partner with Executive Chef Dan Murillo in leading kitchen operations during our vibrant seasonal service.

Weekapaug Golf Club, in beautiful Westerly, RI, is one of those places that professionals in golf and hospitality dream of. For our culinary team, WGC offers an opportunity to focus on uncompromising quality. It is a place where your talent and professionalism are appreciated. And it provides an opportunity to step back and enjoy some serious downtime. With a soft opening in mid-April, the club slowly wakes up and enters the summer season. We hit the ground running and work hard through the summer months. Then, there's the slow wind-down until we finally close the first week of December. We offer year-round employment, with few work obligations during the 3 months we are closed.

Your qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience as a working sous chef
  • Experience in a private club, luxury hotel, or resort property
  • Culinary degree or equivalent work experience

Your Talent:

  • Strong presence and leadership ability
  • Natural morale-building, teaching, and mentoring skills

Your Job:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen
  • Work all kitchen stations as needed for training and during service
  • Participate in training the front-of-the-house staff and daily line-up.
  • Maintain and account for the food and kitchen supply inventory
  • Oversee the maintenance of culinary tools and equipment.
  • Maintain sanitary and safety programs
  • Set an example for passion, quality, and culinary excellence

Salary will range from $75K to $80K with health and dental insurance and retirement benefits.
