Preferred QualificationsRole PurposeProvides customer focused pharmaceutical care and ensure the prompt and accurate dispensing, processing, and recording of prescriptions according to prescription orders. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications. Collaborate with health care providers to assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Supervise and direct supportive staff. ResponsibilitiesVerifies prescribed medications and dosages to ensure that therapy is safe and effective for the patient's condition. Reviews patient profiles to identify clinically significant side effects, drug allergies, and drug interactions. Processes and labels prescriptions with accurate data and directions for patient use.Provides consultation to patients regarding side effects, drug interactions, specific storage requirement and directions for use.Maintain proficiency in operating pharmacy workflow management systems for point of sale, prescription order entry, patient profile review or retrieval of clinical data.
