Role Summary

Responsible for launching new products and capacities at Rivian Manufacturing Centers, you are the catalyst for transforming ideas into reality. At the confluence of product design, validation and factory design, you will deliver the best of Rivian’s ideas into customer hands. You will work closely with our design, AME, and Integration teams, supporting design validation builds and leading manufacturing validation builds, delivering a proven and optimized factory to build efficiently for decades to come. This opening will be located at either our Normal, IL, Irvine, CA or East Atlanta, GA facilities, and reports directly to the director of GA Manufacturing Engineering.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a manufacturing equipment deployment team responsible for launch new products on numerous manufacturing lines and factories across all Rivian's product platforms
  • Mentor manufacturing engineers through technical leadership, translate vision into action, inspiring from ideation to execution 
  • Develop strategies to achieve challenging program timelines, from resource and schedule management to risk mitigation plans
  • Create and implement effective processes, standards and workflows to improve team efficiency
  • Support your team and drive accountability through major milestones such as manufacturing validation builds and launch & ramp
  • Embark on a journey to discover new technologies and tools to arm your team and challenge the status quo
  • Listen patiently, act quickly, provide context, and be a team champion

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering role related to manufacturing equipment, product management, or manufacturing optimization. Leadership experience preferred.
  • Skilled in delivering manufacturing equipment (Design for manufacturing equipment, equipment design and best practice, project management, vendor management, specification writing, equipment commissioning and debug), as well as manufacturing and industrial engineering principles, OEE, cycle time analysis, DVA, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, ergonomics, (DOE, quality control, return on investment, error proofing, supply chain & logistics)
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using first principles, challenge assumptions and biased towards action
  • Proven technical leader that can lead and influence cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to concisely summarize and escalate complex topics
  • Experienced working within 2D & 3D CAD environments and various engineering tools
